Avaya Certifies E911 Solution with Its IP Office System

911 Enable’s Emergency Routing Service successfully completes interoperability testing with Avaya IP Office, ensuring reliable E911 services for small and medium businesses.

Montreal, QC – January 27, 2010 – 911 Enable, a leading provider of E911 solutions for IP telephony, today announced that its Emergency Routing Service (ERS) is compliant with the IP Office communications system from Avaya, a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

The ERS is a subscription service that provides businesses with E911 connectivity to over 6,000 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) across the US and Canada. When 911 is dialed, the IP Office simply sends the emergency call to the ERS, which then delivers the call and accurate location information to the appropriate PSAP. Key features of the ERS include:

E911 support for the main office, branch offices, and remote employees;
Granular location provisioning down to the floor, room, and cubicle level;
Compliance with state and local E911 regulations;
Simple, cost-effective implementation and management.

“911 Enable is pleased to have our ERS certified with Avaya’s IP Office system,” said Lev Deich, Director of 911 Enable. “Small and medium businesses deal with many of the same E911 challenges faced by larger enterprises. Certifying our ERS with IP Office allows SMBs to easily and cost-effectively implement critical E911 support for their deployments, and reflects our ongoing commitment to provide resilient and reliable E911 solutions for businesses of all sizes.”

911 Enable is a Gold member of the Avaya DevConnect program — an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.

“Companies like 911 Enable are expanding the choices available to Avaya customers,” said Eric Rossman, vice president, Developer Relations, Avaya. “With a broad selection of standards-based solutions that are compliance-tested for interoperability, businesses can use communications strategically in their operations and make critical information readily available to both clients and employees.”
