911 Enable Certifies its Emergency Gateway with Aastra Clearspan

Organizations using Aastra Clearspan® R14 can now meet their E911 obligations and ensure reliable emergency support for the entire workforce.

Montreal, QC – March 9, 2010 – 911 Enable, the leading provider of E911 solutions for IP phone systems, today announced that its award-winning Emergency Gateway (EGW) appliance has achieved Aastra certification for Clearspan R14.

The EGW is an on-site appliance that helps organizations meet state and local E911 regulations in a simple and cost-effective manner. Its key features include automatic IP phone tracking, on-site security desk notification, and support for remote workers. The EGW is also used to securely communicate with the 911 Enable Emergency Routing Service (ERS), which delivers emergency calls and detailed location information to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) across the US and Canada. Together, the EGW and ERS represent the only E911 solution capable of supporting Aastra’s latest and most advanced IP telephony features.

“911 Enable is pleased to have our EGW certified with Aastra’s Clearspan system,” said Lev Deich, Director of 911 Enable. “This certification reflects our ongoing commitment to provide E911 support for IP-enabled deployments. Enterprises can implement Aastra’s Clearspan with confidence that a reliable E911 solution is available for their entire deployment.”

Aastra is a leading company at the forefront of the enterprise communications market. Its award-winning Clearspan Unified Communications solution is a highly reliable and scalable solution for large and very large enterprises.

“E911 is a critical requirement for many Aastra customers,” said Tim Whittington, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Aastra USA. “The Emergency Gateway solution has been proven to meet this need with our Clearspan platform.”
