911 Enable wins “ Best Government Application ” at CIPTUG 2007

Ability of Location Management System application to solve regulatory problems for government agencies rewarded by CIPTUG

Austin, Texas – Nov 1, 2007 – 911 Enable, a division of Connexon Telecom Inc., today announced that it won the “Best Government Application” award at the CIPTUG 2007 Annual Conference. CIPTUG is an independent, non-profit association addressing the needs of Cisco IP telecommunications users around the globe. The award was bestowed upon 911 Enable as part of the Application bake-off, a competition designed to provide competitive differentiation for CIPTUG vendor members and other competitors. The award recognizes 911 Enable’s Location Management System application for Cisco IP phones which improves the safety of the workplace and helps government agencies meet E9-1-1 regulatory requirements.

The Location Management System (LMS) was developed by 911 Enable to interoperate with Cisco’s XML services available with the IP Communicator and 794x, 796x and 797x IP phones. Using the XML browser, employees can access 9-1-1 location services in order to add and validate emergency locations. Once an address has passed validation, it is immediately updated in the E9-1-1 database, providing employees with an effective self-reporting tool which enables them to stay constantly connected to a national emergency services network. This helps to meet state, federal and FCC regulations, solving a critical businesses problem for government agencies that are migrating to IP with Cisco Unified Call Manager.

“We are happy to be recognized for our work in developing an E9-1-1 application for the Cisco Unified Call Manager.“ said Lev Deich, Director of 911 Enable. “Our solutions help governments with Cisco IP deployments to meet E9-1-1 regulatory requirements across the nation. This is often a requirement, as government deployments may be made up of multiple branch offices in different regions, as well as remote employees who access the government network via a Virtual Private Network (VPN).”
